Job Summary
Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse in a healthcare facility located in the area. This position involves providing specialized critical care to stroke patients, neurosurgery, and neurology patients 18 years and older, with a focus on ICP monitoring, post IV and IA tPA care, mechanical thrombectomy, and other neuro-specific interventions. The role requires working night shifts and may include working during major holidays, with potential floating to other floors as needed.

Job Details

• Position Description: Must have Neuroscience ICU (Neuro ICU) background, with strong experience in external ventricular drain (EVD), intracranial pressure (ICP), angiogram post-care, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), carotid procedures, and embolizations.
• Required Qualifications: Certification in ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); experience with arterial line management, neuro-specific procedures, ventilator management, medication administration, and use of EPIC charting system; valid licensure as an RN; 2 years of neuro ICU experience; ability to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled; minimum of 2 years neuro ICU experience.
• Schedule: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: The unit is a 10-bed Neuro ICU caring for stroke and neurosurgical patients, performing procedures such as craniotomy, AVM repair, aneurysm repair, carotid stenting, and CRRT. Flexibility to float to other ICU and acute care floors may be required, and the candidate must be prepared for holiday work and possibly COVID patient care.
