Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse in New Mexico This organization is seeking an experienced registered nurse to provide patient care across various departments within a healthcare facility. The role involves working collaboratively with the healthcare team to deliver safe, effective, patient-centered care while ensuring compliance with protocols and standards.
Job Details
- Position Description: Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care. Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses. Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team. Initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care. Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by the physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy. Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care. Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel. Completes patient population/age-specific/procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
- Required Qualifications: Must have a State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License, BLS certification completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross. Education requirements include an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN). A minimum of 2 years current experience in medical-surgical nursing is required.
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Preferred Qualifications: EPIC experience; training is available on-site.
- Additional Information: Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required. Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment. At least one 13-week previous travel assignment is preferred.
