Job Summary
Operating Room Open Heart Technologist opportunity in Hartford. This position involves supporting complex cardiovascular surgeries, including open-heart procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafting, valve surgeries, and endovascular cases. The role requires hands-on expertise in open heart surgeries, cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) cannulation, and the use of specialized vascular and cardiac devices.

Job Details

• Position Description: Standard Surgical Technologist (Surg Tech) in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) at the healthcare facility.
• Certifications, Education, and Experience: Certification as a surgical technologist with experience in open heart procedures; 0 years minimum experience required; location in Hartford, Connecticut; scheduled for 36 hours per week.
• Schedule: 40 hours per week, including two 12-hour shifts and two 8-hour shifts. On-call coverage required for weeknights from 7 pm to 7 am and weekends from 7 am to 7 pm or nights from 7 pm to 7 am.
• Additional Information: Experience with CPB cannulation, cardioplegia, pacers/defibrillators, IABP, LVAD, and Impella insertion is preferred. Common procedures include coronary artery bypass surgery, valve replacements, heart transplants, aortic repairs, vascular bypass, and endovascular cardiac surgeries.
