Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) The organization is seeking experienced L&D nurses for a high-risk, Level 3 facility. This role involves managing high-acuity laboring and antepartum patients, performing independent interventions including vaginal exams and internal monitor placement, and circulating and recovering C-Section patients. The position requires confidence and independence in handling complex obstetric cases during night shifts.

Job Details:

• Position Description:
  Unit includes 17 beds with OR suites for C-Sections, 2 triage beds, 4 postpartum beds, and approximately 250 births per month. Nurses will follow AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios, including 2:1 for normal laboring mothers, 1:1 for high-risk labor, and 4:1 couplet care. Responsibilities include managing high-risk and antepartum patients, performing vaginal exams, internal monitor placement, and circulating/recovering C-Section cases.
• Required Qualifications:
  Must have BLS, ACLS, AFM, and NRP certifications. Two or more years of related experience is preferred. Must be confident with vaginal exams, internal monitor placement, and managing high-risk laboring/delivery and antepartum patients.
• Schedule:
  Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information:
  Orientation to the unit will be 3 days for travelers. Nurses are required to read fetal monitor strips effectively and are ACLS and AFM certified. Floating to postpartum as needed is required. The unit utilizes Cerner charting system, and self-scheduling is allowed through TEAM scheduling.
