Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) RN This position is located in an acute care setting within a healthcare facility. The role involves providing specialized nursing care for women during labor, delivery, and postpartum, adhering to safety and clinical standards, including AWHONN staffing guidelines. The assignment ensures a focus on maternal and fetal health, with a peer-supported environment for delivering quality patient care.

Job Details:

• Certifications Required: BLS Certification, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
• Education and Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required.
• Location Requirements: Candidates must hold an active RN license and have drivers license; candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with the organization, including associated health systems.
• Shift Schedule: 12-Hour Night Shifts, scheduled from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with at least 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information:
  • Unit notes include a 50-mile radius rule; candidates must not be employed full, part-time, or PRN at any associated facility.
  • Candidates must pass a pass/fail exam during orientation with a score of 90% or higher.
  • Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas.
  • The unit typically manages intrauterine pregnancies, pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, and water births.
  • RNs will titrate drips such as Pitocin, mag, insulin, and antihypertensives.
  • A charge nurse is assigned to each shift, and staff may float to other hospital departments or campuses, including OB floors.
  • Orientation consists of two shifts.
  • RTO requests must be submitted upfront for periods of 7 days or less during the 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved.
  • The hospital reserves the right to cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment.
  • Charting is done in EPIC.
  • No BSN required at submission; licenses must be submitted.
