Description

Job Summary
An ICU (Intensive Care Unit) RN position is available in the healthcare organizations acute care setting. This role involves providing critical care to adult patients with conditions such as trauma, cardiac issues, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress. The position requires a dedicated healthcare professional to deliver specialized nursing care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

  • Position Description: ICU RN with responsibilities including patient monitoring, titration of cardiac and other drips, troubleshooting ventilators (such as vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow), and interpreting/recording strips using GE monitors. The role involves caring for patients with complex diagnoses, including trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, and others, in a 33-bed unit with an average daily census of 16.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; certifications including BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; minimum of 2 years of ICU experience; located within 50 miles of the facility; availability for night shifts; successful pass of skills assessment with at least 90%; current Drivers license.
  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours each, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Staff self-scheduling is permitted for core team members, with some limitations.
  • Additional Information: Nurses are required to participate in orientation, consisting of one shift. RTO requests must be made upfront for 7 or fewer days; additional RTO will not be approved. The unit maintains a nurse-patient ratio of 1:2-3 for adults, with typical floating to PCU and MedSurg areas (patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5).
