Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse - Rural Location. This role involves providing acute care for a diverse geriatric and adult patient population in a critical access facility. The position requires skilled management of trauma, chronic illnesses, and post-acute care, utilizing team nursing principles.

Job Details

• Certifications Required: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• Education and Experience Requirements: Valid nursing license, minimum 1 year of clinical experience in ER setting, ability to read and interpret strips, and knowledge of dementia, stroke, and skin care for geriatric patients.
• Location Requirements: Candidates must be within a 50-mile radius of the facility.
• Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Job Details:
  • Utilize team nursing model with nurse aides/CNA on each shift.
  • Responsibilities include managing IV medications, fluids, blood administration, and titratable drips such as electrolytes, hypertensive medications, and blood transfusions.
  • Support includes support of RT equipment with no RT troubleshooting required from RNs.
  • RNs are responsible for reading and interpreting all strips.
  • Work involves caring for patients with conditions including dementia, COVID, wounds, trauma, and exacerbation of chronic illnesses in a fast-paced acute care environment.
  • Supportive equipment includes Vents, Cpap, BiPap, and High Flow systems.
  • Orientation is 3 shifts with possible team/block scheduling; support for every other holiday and no call or standby requirement.
  • Must submit license to the facility and meet minimal experience requirements.
