Job Summary
Medical Surgical Oncology Nurse (MS ONC) Fargo, ND
This position involves providing specialized nursing care within a busy medical surgical oncology unit that focuses on hematology and bone marrow transplant patients. The role requires delivery of comprehensive patient assessments, medication administration, symptom management, and effective communication with interdisciplinary teams.

Job Details

  • Position Description:
    Nurses care for medically complex hematology/oncology patients, including those receiving blood products and antibiotics, with responsibilities such as head-to-toe assessments, medication administration, and patient/family communication. Experience with EPIC electronic health records is required.

  • Required Qualifications:
    Active BLS certification through the American Heart Association; ND or Compact RN license or willingness to obtain one; minimum of 2 years recent nursing experience in a large hospital setting (250+ beds); experience in busy level 1 trauma centers preferred; willingness to float to other medical-surgical units as needed; experience with EPIC is preferred.

  • Schedule:
    Rotating day/night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Every other weekend and holiday coverage required; no call responsibilities.

  • Additional Information:
    Candidates must badge in and out at the facility, wear navy blue scrubs, and adhere to the facilitys dress code. The unit comprises 6S-16 inpatient oncology beds, focusing on hematology and bone marrow transplant patients, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 to 1:6 depending on patient needs.
