Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor RN - Level 1 Trauma Location: Not Specified. This position involves providing care in a fast-paced, 15-bed unit that handles general medical and surgical patients, including those awaiting transfer from the emergency room. The RN will perform initial patient admissions and care until patients are assigned to their designated units, ensuring quality care in a high-acuity environment.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; minimum of 2 years of Medical/Surgical experience; Level 1 trauma center experience; Epic experience; BLS certification from the American Heart Association; no specific experience requirement listed for total years, but recent pertinent experience is essential.
• Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts, from 0700-1930 or 1900-0730, with every other weekend and holiday. No call.
• Responsibilities: Care for general medical and surgical patients, including initial admissions and patient stability until transfer. Use of Epic electronic health record system. Communication via Zebra phones and medication management using Omnicell. Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment.
• Additional Information: Will float to other medical/surgical units as needed; unit comprises 15 private rooms; nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 during day shifts and 6:1 during night shifts. Dress code is navy blue scrubs. New medical/surgical unit with a fast-paced environment and orientation provided.
