Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse Location unspecified. This position involves providing critical care in a busy Emergency Room environment, managing a variety of acute patient conditions including cardiac, respiratory issues, trauma, stroke, and neurosurgical cases. The role requires pediatric readiness certification and proficiency with pediatric patients, ensuring high-quality, timely patient care within the emergency department.

Job Details

  • Certifications/Licensure: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
  • Education Requirements: Valid license to submit.
  • Location Requirements: Candidates must have a drivers license, with an operational radius requirement of 50 miles from the facility.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant ER experience.
  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Responsibilities include managing ER holds, triage, and working with advanced equipment such as vents, CPAP, and BiPAP.
  • Must be competent with pediatric patients and pediatric readiness certified.
  • The ER handles an estimated 50 patients daily, with a nurse to patient ratio of approximately 4:1.
  • Emergency Department staff are responsible for EKGs, labs, and coordinate with radiology for imaging procedures.
  • Additional operational details include a trauma level classification, separate psych/seclusion rooms, and the use of the EPIC charting system.
