Job Summary
Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) - Location: unspecified. This role involves providing patient care for a mixed population of medical/surgical and intermediate care patients. Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:6, depending on patient assignment, with staffing supporting adult and geriatric populations.

Job Details

Required Qualifications: Valid state or compact license, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications; minimum 1 year of experience; experience with telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of rapid response and code teams, blood product administration, central line care, peripheral line care, management of cardiac drips (including no titration), oxygen administration via nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions/PPE.
Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 48 hours per week.
Additional Information: This unit supports interdisciplinary care involving physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. The daily census ranges from 12-14 adult and geriatric patients in a 24-bed unit. Orientation includes 24 hours of onsite training and core modules, completed within 48 hours of contract signing.
Submission Requirements: Candidates must have state or compact licenses in hand at the time of submittal, and all required RTO must be listed at the time of application. Previous staff must be approved by the facility to return.
