Job Summary
Medical Surgical Float Nurse, located in New Mexico, will provide patient care in a busy general Medical Surgical unit. This position requires flexibility to float to other units such as ICU or Step Down and adherence to unit protocols, with a focus on high patient turnover and discharge efficiency.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, every other weekend, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Current BLS certification, one or more years of experience in medical-surgical settings, valid RN license in New Mexico, and ability to start ASAP for a 13-week contract.
• Preferred Qualifications: ACLS certification preferred.
• Additional Information: Must be fully registered with the New Mexico state fingerprint process, which can take several weeks. Candidates may be asked to float to ICU or Step Down units as needed; float rotation may be required. Basic scrubs in royal blue are required. EMR systems include Cerner and Mindray Telemetry System. The patient ratio is 1:6, sometimes 1:7, with a total of 36 beds in the unit.
