Job Summary
Operating Room (Open Heart) Nurse in the Central region. This role involves providing specialized perioperative care for cardiothoracic surgical procedures within a hospital setting. The position offers a structured schedule and the opportunity to work with a dedicated surgical team in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Job Details

• Shift Time: Days, 630 AM 1500 PM, Monday to Friday
• Schedule: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
• Required Certifications: BLS, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) license required; NBSTSA or NCCT accepted; American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) certifications preferred
• Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree or Certificate preferred
• Years of Experience: 2+ years of Cardiovascular Operating Room experience required, along with prior travel experience
• Minimum Experience: 0 years minimum (additional experience requirements met)
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with thoracic robot procedures, flexibility, resilience, excellent work ethic, willingness to perform downtime tasks, social candidate
• Float: Float rotation may be required to all Central Aspirus locations if needed
• Additional Information: Responsible for setting up operative suites, ensuring case cart readiness, scrubbing surgical cases in various specialties, and turnover of rooms for multiple procedures per day. Must be motivated during downtime activities such as pulling case carts and cleaning. Candidates should be hard-working, resilient, capable of managing change, and socially engaging. This role includes call responsibilities (one night per week, one weekend per month, one backup per week) with a 30-minute response time, and possible additional mandated call during flu season.
