Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) Winston-Salem, NC. This academic medical center, a Level 1 Trauma Designation, is seeking an RN with cardiology experience to support their busy unit. The role involves caring for cardiac patients, including those with acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, NSTEMI/STEMI, post-cardiac catheterization, and arrhythmia management, among others.

Job Details

Position: RN - PCU
Specialty: Progressing Care Unit (PCU)
Location: Winston-Salem, NC
Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours, minimum 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications; nursing license required; one year of cardiology experience; ability to interpret cardiac rhythms; comfortable titrating multiple medications including Argatroban, Digoxin, Diltiazem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Esmolol, Lasix, Insulin, Labetalol, Lidocaine, Milrinone, Nicardipine, Nitroglycerine, Sotalol, Tirofiban; must be comfortable with post-procedural cardiac care and telemetry monitoring
Support within the Department: CNAs assist with vital checks, blood glucose, safety rounds, and ADLs; receptionists/huc support may be provided; phlebotomy via peripheral blood draw; RT, hospitalist, and intensivist available 24/7; nurses responsible for monitoring and verifying telemetry strips
Technology/Equipment: Epic EMR, Alaris infusion pumps, Omnicell medication dispensers, Phillips monitors; unit-specific equipment as required
Orientation: 2 days of departmental orientation; unit-specific preceptor support
Additional Notes: Scrub color is royal blue; free onsite parking; unit culture emphasizes teamwork and family atmosphere.
