Job Summary
The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing specialized patient care in a hospital setting within the healthcare provider. This role involves managing patients recovering from open-heart surgery, vascular procedures, and other cardiac interventions, with a focus on telemetry monitoring, post-operative care, and adherence to sternal precautions. The position requires flexibility in floating between units and a commitment to a 12-hour night shift schedule.

Job Details

• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Education Requirements: Active compact license in the relevant state, with a minimum of 2 years of telemetry experience, including post-operative cardiac surgeries, myocardial infarctions, and vascular procedures.
• Location Requirements: Candidate must hold a valid compact license and be within a 50-mile radius of the facility.
• Experience: 2 years of experience in surgical telemetry, open-heart surgery, vascular procedures, and management of specialized cardiac devices such as LVADs and VADs
• Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week
• Additional Qualifications: Epic electronic charting experience is mandatory; candidates should be proficient in managing complex cardiac patients, including chest tubes, sternal precautions, and monitoring post-operative conditions.
• Responsibilities include blood products administration, cardioversion, defibrillation, managing cardiac drips and Vasoactive medications, telemetry interpretation, and post-surgical patient care.
• Candidates must be flexible to float to similar units and are expected to work every other weekend.
• References: Two references covering a period of one year (or six months for CNAs) within the last three years are required before start.
• Candidates should be prepared to work during designated holidays and request all specific scheduling or time-off needs in advance.
