Job Summary
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse - Night Shift (Location TBD). This position involves providing specialized critical care to pediatric patients within a designated healthcare facility. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of pediatric critical care procedures and the ability to manage complex clinical situations.
Job Details
- Certifications: BLS, PALS (REQUIRED); NRP, CRRT (Preferred)
- Education Requirements: At least 2 years of experience in Pediatric Critical Care, with 1 year of charge experience preferred
- Location Requirements: Compact license must be in hand at submission, within a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years, with 2 years of pediatric critical care experience preferred
- Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Skills: Managing and administering breathing treatments, chest tube setup and care, ventilator management including CPAP, BiPAP, high-frequency vents, oscillators, procedure sedation, RSI, trach care, blood and blood product administration, performing CVP, EKG, managing drains, epidural, PCA, PICC, central lines, port-a-cath, vascular device access, syringe pumps, traction, halo, pin care, wound vac, pediatric dosage calculations, procedural sedation, starting and maintaining IVs
- Additional Information: Experience in PICU, ENT, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Post-Op/Pre-Op necessary; float rotation may be required to NICU or units within skill set; orientation provided; candidates must be available to work every other weekend and be flexible with holidays as per contract requirements; references covering 1 year are required.
