Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse position available in a healthcare facility. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for neonatal patients, ensuring adherence to professional standards and organizational policies. The position requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills to provide high-quality care to vulnerable newborns and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support patient recovery and discharge planning.
Job Details
- Position Description: The NICU Registered Nurse assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with family, interprets diagnostics and laboratory data, and reports abnormal results to physicians and caregivers. Formulates and revises individualized care plans, including discharge planning, based on assessment data and input from the patient, family, and healthcare team.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license in the state of practice or equivalent, BLS certification, and a minimum of 1 year experience in an acute care hospital setting, specifically within the past 12 months in a relevant specialty area, or a minimum of 0 years if specified.
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: The nurse will provide direct patient care, coordinate, delegate, and supervise activities of licensed and non-licensed personnel, and document all assessments, care plans, and responses in patient records. Participation in quality improvement initiatives, professional development, and interdisciplinary communication is expected.
