Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurselocated in North Georgiaprovides high-acuity emergency care within a fast-paced hospital setting. This role involves managing a varied patient population with conditions such as chest pain, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, and uncontrolled diabetes, primarily ages 20 to 90. The ER features 24 beds, including behavioral health and critical care rooms, and requires self-sufficient nurses skilled in EPIC and capable of functioning efficiently with limited resources.
Job Details
- Position Description: ER Nurse responsible for delivering immediate, high-quality emergency care in a trauma and stroke receiving facility with a 24-bed ER including behavioral health and critical care rooms. The facility is a Level STEMI and stroke center, transferring patients out for intervention.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS; high school diploma or equivalent; valid nursing license; local license; minimum 2 years of ER experience; authorized to submit licenses.
- Schedule: Day shift from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, 36 hours per week, with potential weekend work and holiday coverage.
- Additional Information: Nurses must be adept with EPIC and experienced in fast-paced environments with less support than larger trauma facilities. RT staff are available 24/7 for procedures like ABGs, EKGs, and breathing treatments. Self-scheduling is allowed, and orientation includes hospital and in-unit clinical shifts with a preceptor. Travel nurses should be comfortable working in smaller, high-acuity settings with a minimum of 2 years ER experience.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), ENPC or PALS, NIHSS.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of ER experience required.
