Description

Job Summary
The healthcare provider is seeking a qualified Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) RN for a position in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This role involves providing specialized nursing care during cardiovascular procedures, including heart catheterizations, PCIs, pacemakers, ICDs, EP procedures, and other vascular interventions. The ideal candidate will have strong procedural skills, appropriate certifications, and prior experience in a busy cath lab setting.

Job Details

  • Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Active AHA BLS and ACLS certifications; minimum 2 years of cath lab experience; graduate from a NLN or AACN accredited nursing program or approved nursing program; current license in the applicable State Nursing Board and/or multistate licensure privileges; Bachelors Degree in nursing preferred.
  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, 4-10 hours per shift, varying start times (0530-1800), minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Responsibilities include administering and monitoring conscious sedation, circulating in sterile environments, and supporting procedures such as left and right heart catheterizations, PCIs, pacemaker placements, ICDs, EP procedures, TEEs, cardioversions, venous ablations, and peripheral vascular angiograms.
  • Equipment utilized includes Pyxis, Philips monitoring systems, Epic, Xcelera, ultrasounds, Angiojets, EKOS machines, and contrast injection systems.
  • The successful candidate must badge in and out at the facility, complete 4-6 shifts of orientation based on experience, and respond to on-call duties with 1 call per week and one weekend every 3-4 weeks, with a 30-minute response time.
  • Additional requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing school, current ACLS and BLS certification, and adherence to facility-specific policies.
