Description

Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse in an obstetrics department providing care for high-risk laboring patients, including those with pre-eclampsia, diabetes, and other gestational conditions. The position involves managing C-Sections, External Cephalic Versions, and other obstetric procedures in a high-acuity environment.

Job Details

  • Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate certifications.
  • Education Requirements: Valid KS or Compact Registered Nurse license; Allied license if applicable.
  • Location Requirements: 50-mile local radius; local candidates not accepted.
  • Years of Experience: 0 years required.
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 48 hours per week.
  • Responsibilities include care of laboring patients with high-risk conditions, assisting with high-risk deliveries, performing obstetric procedures such as C-sections and External Cephalic Versions, and providing postpartum and nursery care for neonates.
  • Experience in managing postpartum hemorrhage, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, and fetal monitoring is preferred.
  • Must be able to assist with sterile speculum exams, vaginal deliveries, epidural anesthesia, and use of electronic fetal monitoring equipment.
  • The unit admits neonates, adolescents, infants, and adults, with a daily census that supports high-volume obstetric care.
  • Travelers are expected to float to like units as needed and receive orientation on the unit.
  • Submittals must include valid licenses and RTO details at time of application.
