• Role: Surgical Technologist for Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) supporting adult CVOR case types including cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery.
• Certifications/Education/Experience: Surgical Technician certification preferred; BLS and certification are recommended but not mandatory. Minimum of 2 years of experience in adult CVOR cases required.
• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Schedule: Varies; includes potential weekend rotation, 1 night call per week, and 2 weekends in a 6-week cycle.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Orientation: Depends on experience level, possibly 2 days.
• Support within the Department: Clinical supervisor on support staff, charge RN, anesthesia team, experienced peer support.
• Technology and Equipment: EMR (EPIC), Alaris IV Pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and unit-specific equipment as applicable.
• Additional notes: Scrub color: personal scrubs to and from the hospital; hospital-issued scrubs in the OR. Parking: free. Good unit culture.
