Job Summary
PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Nurse Massachusetts. This position involves providing advanced postoperative care to patients recovering from anesthesia. The role requires delivering high-quality nursing services with a focus on patient assessment, safety, and education, utilizing professional expertise within a hospital environment.

Job Details

  • Position Description: Delivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Administers and monitors patient responses to all medications. Directs and guides patient care, teaching, and ancillary personnel activities while maintaining hospital policy standards.
  • Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required and must be maintained. Successful passage of the Hospitals Pharmacology exam, Basic Arrhythmia Program or challenge exam required. Demonstrated skills in I.V. starts, hemodynamic monitoring, and ventilator care required. One year of recent ICU, CVICU, CVPA, ER, SDC, or PACU experience within the last five years required. Prior SDC or PACU experience preferred.
  • Schedule: Rotating shift, 8 hours per shift, minimum 40 hours per week.
  • Additional Information: On-call is required for off-shift, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must read, write, and communicate in English.
