Job Details

• Position Description:
  Unit Notes: Local Rate applies to clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles. Non-billable orientation hours include 12 hours, with guaranteed hours not applying during orientation. The department primarily manages stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, head injury, and neuroscience patients.
• Required Qualifications:
  Active IL license or confirmation that application has been initiated; BLS (AHA), NIHSS certifications; minimum 1 year of experience; experience working on a dedicated neuro unit with level 1 trauma experience; previous travel experience (no first-time travelers).
• Schedule:
  Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  Previous neuro unit experience, trauma experience, heparin titration experience.
• Responsibilities:
  Provide patient-centered care, titrate drips such as heparin based on PTT, troubleshoot high flow oxygen therapy, read telemetry monitors (Phillips), and collaborate with charge nurses and house supervisors.
• Additional Information:
  Charge nurses are on duty 24/7 and do not take assignments unless short staffing occurs. RNs are required to read telemetry strips and troubleshoot equipment as needed. Float rotation may be required based on staffing needs, with full team float policies in place.
