Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) The organization is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a position in the Progressive Care Unit. This role involves providing high-quality patient care, supervising ancillary nursing staff, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans. The RN will play a crucial role in ensuring patient safety and achieving positive health outcomes within a hospital setting.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: BLS Certification required prior to first shift. ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH only). Minimum two (2) years bedside clinical experience highly desired.
• Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Performs a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of an individualized care plan.
• Provides timely patient information and status updates for team conferences and re-evaluation.
• Responsible for documenting assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and efficiently in the medical record in accordance with policy.
• Participates in patient rehabilitation programs and assumes direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
• Initiates discharge planning from the day of admission and provides patient teaching for discharge readiness.
• Communicates pertinent patient status changes to support continuity of care and patient safety.
• Supervises and delegates to ancillary nursing personnel, providing direction and teaching to support team function.
• Ensures personal and environmental safety aligned with hospital policies.
• Contributes to a positive work environment through team-building activities and effective communication.
• Coordinates with management regarding supplies, equipment, and clinical training needs.
• Provides care in a cost-effective manner, monitoring supplies and charges.
• Assumes charge responsibility as appropriate after orientation.
• Actively pursues professional development through continuing education and self-study.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
