Job Summary
A Step Down Unit Registered Nurse located in the area. This role involves providing specialized care for patients requiring intermediate medical attention, including those recovering from surgical procedures such as open-heart surgery and vascular interventions. The position supports a fast-paced clinical environment with a focus on cardiac telemetry and post-operative patient management.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education, and Experience: Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required. Valid license must be a compact license in hand at submission. Minimum of 2 years' experience in surgical telemetry, open-heart surgery, and vascular care. Experience with Epic charting system is essential.
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 10/19/2026 and ending on 01/18/2027.
- Responsibilities: Care for surgical cardiac telemetry patients, including post-op open-heart and vascular surgeries, stroke patients with cardiac involvement, and those on specialized structural heart support devices. Tasks include chest tube management, blood product administration, cardioversion, defibrillation, VAD management, and telemetry interpretation.
- Additional Information: Candidates must be flexible to float to similar units as needed. Experience with ICU procedures, chest tubes, sternal precautions, and managing medications such as Heparin, Insulin, Amiodarone, and antiarrhythmics is required. Familiarity with Epic is a hard requirement.
