Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse in the Labor and Delivery Department at a healthcare facility. This position involves providing specialized care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum, with a focus on high-risk and low-risk obstetrical patients. The role requires a strong focus on safety, patient comfort, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
Job Details
- Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, ACLS (preferred)
- Education Requirements: Relevant nursing degree
- Location Requirements: Valid and active compact license in hand at submission
- Years of Experience: At least 2 years of labor and delivery experience required
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Skills: Administration of blood and blood products, anticoagulation therapy, assist with high risk delivery, circulate for C-section, epidural anesthesia, IV pump management, wound care, magnesium sulfate therapy, use of intrauterine pressure catheter and PCA, attend all deliveries including high-risk cases, GYN surgeries, low risk antepartum, transition nursery, and general labor and delivery procedures
- Additional Information: Must be flexible to float to Post-Partum and possibly other units based on skill set and staffing needs; candidates must have Epic experience.
