Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse Location: Not Specified. This position involves providing specialized care for patients undergoing labor and delivery, including preterm labor management, high-risk deliveries, and postpartum care. The role requires a seasoned professional to work night shifts on a 12-hour schedule, supporting a busy unit with multiple labor rooms and triage areas.

Job Details

  • Required Qualifications: Valid state license with a compact license, at least 2 years of experience, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), AWHONN Intermediate certification, BLS (Basic Life Support), FHM (likely a certification or training), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Responsibilities include attending all deliveries, high-risk deliveries, gynecological surgeries, and managing labor and postpartum patients.
  • Special procedures performed include blood/blood products administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, use of epidural, PCA, syringe pumps, Wound Vac, and administration of medications like heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate.
  • Experience with charting system Epic is required.
  • Candidates may need to float to related units such as Post-Partum and Labor & Delivery at affiliated facilities based on skill set.
  • References: Two references covering a one-year period in the last three years are required.
  • Additional details: Candidates should have completed modules averaging 16 hours, with over 20 hours requiring prior approval. No direct facility contact unless scheduled, and candidates must be flexible with floating between facilities if needed.
