Job Summary
Medical Surgical Nurse in the MS (Medical Surgical) specialty located on the 3rd floor of a healthcare facility. This contract position involves providing care on a 34-bed unit, primarily working day shifts with 12-hour shifts and a minimum of 36 hours per week. The role emphasizes teamwork and technical proficiency in a fast-paced setting.

Job Details

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical
Location: 3rd floor by elevators A and B of the main hospital building
Shift: Days, 12 hours shift, with a schedule of 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, minimum 36 hours per week
Duration: 13 weeks, starting 10/12/2026 and ending 01/11/2027
Certifications: BLS certification required
Qualifications: RN license, experience with starting IVs, Foley management, NGT insertion, colostomy system exchange, drain management (JP, Hemovac, Wound Vac)
Preferred Skills: Chest tube management, Port-a-Cath access and de-access skills
Unit Profile:
- 34 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6
- Equipment includes wound vac, trach, suction, Plum 360 IV pumps, Covidien Kangaroo e Pump, Kendall SCDEMR
- Staff includes 56 team members, with day and night shifts, and charge nurses on duty
Additional Information:
- Must be a team player and adhere to dress code with galaxy blue, black, or blue jackets; no visible tattoos
- Unit follows specific bariatric standards of care and has a focus on consistent patient experience
- Candidates without the required skill set (including starting IV, Foley, NGT management, colostomy, drain management) will not be considered
