Pediatric Psychology Nurse Bangor, ME This pediatric psychology nursing position involves providing specialized psychiatric care for pediatric and adult patients within a mental health facility. The role requires flexibility to float between pediatric and adult units and focus on delivering compassionate, evidence-based care in a locked psychiatric inpatient setting.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: BLS certification; Maine State License; at least 1 year of Behavioral Health nursing experience; experience with de-escalation, physical restraints, medication passes, and group facilitation; possession of or eligibility for Pediatric Psychology specialty certification.
- Schedule: Evenings shift, 8 hours daily, 40 hours per week, starting 10/26/2026 and ending 01/23/2027.
- Additional Information: The role requires willingness to float between pediatric and adult units as needed. Orientation consists of one week on days and subsequent 12-hour shifts. There is an expectation to work holidays on a rotating basis. Travelers may have the opportunity to serve as charge nurse. The facility is a secure, locked inpatient mental health center serving patients aged 5-18 (pediatric) and 18+ (adults), with a focus on psychiatric care and therapy services. Support staff includes psychiatry, therapy, security, and management teams, with on-site resources available 24/7. The facility utilizes Cerner charting and Pyxis medication systems, with heavy winter snow conditions expected. Scrub color is flexible, and parking is free.
