Job Summary
Step Down Unit RN Nights Location unspecified. This role involves providing specialized care to patients in a busy acute care setting, including those on ventilators, with long wait times for discharge or transfer. The RN will work in a fast-paced environment handling complex patient populations, including patients with candida Auris and LVAD patients, requiring compassionate and patient-centered care.

Job Details

  • Position Description: The role requires caring for patients in a PCU/RTAU capable of managing infusions such as insulin and anti-coagulation drips, including heparin and angiomax. The unit manages patients with candida Auris and LVAD patients, providing acute and critical care. The patient population is often awake and alert, with frequent needs for pain medication.
  • Required Qualifications: Active ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS; 2 years of experience preferred; licensure required; previous experience in a busy hospital environment; minimum one-year experience.
  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week.
  • Additional Information: Candidates must be flexible to float as needed and experience in a high-volume, Level 1 Trauma setting is preferred. Previous travel experience and at least 3+ years of nursing experience are highly recommended. Proper EPIC charting system competency is required.
  • Submission Requirements: Valid license to submit application; RN must have no more than four shift cancellations per 13-week assignment, or three shifts if shorter than 13 weeks.
