Job Summary
L&D (Labor and Delivery) RN - Night Shift Location unspecified. This position involves providing specialized nursing care within an acute care department, managing labor, antepartum, postpartum, and neonatal patients. The role requires adherence to clinical guidelines and collaborative management of a high-acuity obstetric population.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education, and Experience: Active Illinois nursing license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated, BLS, ACLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring competency every 2 years. Must have a minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery experience.
• Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours. Minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Department: Alternate Birthing Unit with 5 L&D beds, 2 OR suites for C-Sections, 1 triage bed, and postpartum rooms.
• Patient Care: Managing active labor, antepartum, postpartum, GYN surgical, and neonatal cases.
• Patient Ratios: Following AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 active labor, up to 1:3 for antepartum/triage/early labor, and 1:6 mother-baby.
• Additional Qualifications: Must be able to manage labor patients and have previous travel experience.
• Staffing and Operations: 24/7 charge nurse coverage, surgical techs each shift, use of Cpap & HFNC in nursery, occasional vents. No telemetry monitoring techs.
• Orientation: 2 shifts of department-specific orientation.
• Submission Requirements: Last four digits of SSN, active IL license or application confirmation, understanding of a drug-free campus policy, and successful drug screen.
