Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) Concord, NC. This position involves providing specialized patient care within a Level III Trauma Center, focusing on patients with conditions such as heart failure, chest pain, COPD, and those requiring fluid resuscitation or blood products. The RN will work night shifts in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, supporting a skilled nursing staff to deliver quality care.

Job Details

• Position Description:
  Provides direct patient care to adult patients in a Progressive Care Unit with a focus on cardiac and medical/surgical conditions. Responsible for tasks such as PIV starts, NG tube management, chest tube management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and handling cardiac drips and surgical drains. The role requires flexibility in floating to other units as needed based on staffing and patient acuity.

• Required Qualifications:
  RN license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certification, 18 months of PCU RN experience, location must be outside of the immediate area (radius rule: travelers permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit), minimum of 1-year experience, and ability to work nights.

• Schedule:
  Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, scheduled on a 6-week cycle.

• Additional Information:
  Support within the department includes CNA support for ADL assistance, trained to perform phlebotomy, EKG, glucometer readings, and other patient care tasks. The facility supports 24/7 hospitalist coverage, telemetry monitoring, and resource nurses when staffing allows. Travel nurses will likely float to other facilities within the region and should demonstrate adaptability and clinical flexibility.
