Job Summary
Postpartum (PP) Nurse - Labor and Delivery (L&D) Postpartum Floor, available in an unspecified healthcare setting. This position involves providing specialized nursing care for mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery. The role requires a qualified professional to support maternal and neonatal health with a focus on operational excellence and patient safety.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Valid Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided); Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); 1-year recent full-time equivalent experience in a related setting.
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional information: The position requires demonstrated ability to perform electronic fetal monitoring, IV skills, high-risk medication administration, lab draws, capillary blood glucose testing, Adult Cardiac monitoring, newborn monitors including pulse oximetry and cardiac monitoring, heel sticks/venipuncture on newborns, IV administration and maintenance for newborns, Bili-blankets/lights, radiant warmers, and support maternal-newborn teaching. The role also includes supporting gyn teaching & post-operative bladder training, and maternal-newborn teaching.
