Description
Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Department Nurse in a healthcare facility located locally. This position involves providing specialized care for patients during labor, preterm labor, and delivery. The role requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective maternal and neonatal outcomes.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education, and Experience: Valid state license with a compact license preferred; at least 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, along with current certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS), Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Intermediate.
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Responsibilities: Attend all deliveries, high-risk deliveries, and GYN surgeries; administer blood and blood products; operate special procedures and equipment such as epidural pumps and Wound Vac; monitor and maintain patient safety during high-risk procedures; and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
- Additional Information: Must have experience with Epic charting system; previous charge or leadership experience preferred. Candidates should be willing to float between units such as Post-Partum, L&D, and potentially other nearby specialized units based on skill set.
