Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Department (L&D) professional position available in a high-volume, high-acuity environment. The role involves functioning as a Baby Nurse during deliveries and providing continuous care to newborns until transfer to postpartum. The position requires high-risk experience and the ability to work in fast-paced settings supporting obstetric and neonatal needs.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, scheduled every 6 weeks to meet unit needs.
- Certifications: Required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). Preferred: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate.
- Qualifications: One or more years of experience working with high-risk obstetric patients, electronic fetal monitoring (EPIC HARDSTOP), and neonatal care. Must have active compact or lower 50-mile radius license.
- Responsibilities: Support midwifery clients, private OBs, adult recovery services, and community care clinics; provide high-risk obstetric and neonatal care including assessments, interventions, and use of special equipment such as electronic fetal monitoring and radiant warmers.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to sister facilities supporting Mother/Baby units, Antepartum, Postpartum, NICU, or other units as needed.
- Additional Information: Knowledge of AWHONN guidelines, EPIC electronic fetal monitoring, and handling high-volume deliveries (approximately 550 per month) are essential. The role involves circulating during deliveries, neonatal care, assessments, and assisting with high-risk procedures.
