Description
Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse in a high-volume, high-risk maternity unit. This role involves supporting patients during labor and delivery, functioning as a Baby Nurse during delivery, and providing post-delivery care to newborns until transfer to postpartum. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, high acuity environment with experience in electronic fetal monitoring and high-risk obstetric care.
Job Details
- Certifications: Required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). Preferred: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced certifications.
- Qualifications: Valid state license (Compact license preferred), minimum 1 year of high-risk obstetric experience, proficiency in electronic fetal monitoring, and experience with high-risk delivery procedures.
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum 48 hours per week.
- Additional Responsibilities: Support with high risk/volume labor and delivery, functioning as a Baby Nurse during delivery, and providing newborn assessments and care including eye and thigh assessments, and administering Vitamin K injections.
- Float: Float rotation may be required between postpartum, antepartum, and sister facilities supporting obstetric and neonatal care.
- Submission Requirements: Candidates must include responses regarding prior work at Providence facilities and provide two recent references covering at least one year of employment within the last three years.
