Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse in a high-volume, fast-paced environment supporting obstetric and neonatal care within a healthcare facility. The role involves functioning as a Baby Nurse during deliveries, providing ongoing newborn care until transfer to postpartum, and circulating during high-risk obstetric procedures, all while adhering to established clinical guidelines.
Job Details
- Certifications: Required: BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); Preferred: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
- Education Requirements: Completion of necessary certifications; minimum 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery
- Location Requirements: Valid State License; Compact License accepted
- Experience Requirements: 1+ year in high-risk obstetric or neonatal settings
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, starting 10/19/2026, ending 01/18/2027
- Float: Float rotation may be required, with assignments to postpartum, antepartum, or sister units such as NICU as needed
- Additional Responsibilities: Assist with high-risk delivery procedures, neonatal assessments, administering medications like Magnesium Sulfate and Pitocin, performing newborn care including eyes, thighs, assessments, and injections, and supporting clinical operations in accordance with AWHONN guidelines
- Submittal Requirements: Candidates must include responses regarding previous employment at Providence facilities, provide two recent references covering at least one year within the last three years, and confirm the ability to work the scheduled shifts and holidays as specified.
