Description

Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse position in the healthcare facility. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care, performing nursing assessments, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. The position emphasizes patient safety, team collaboration, and professional growth.

Job Details

  • Certifications, Education, Degree, and Experience Requirements: BLS Certification required prior to first shift; ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH only); minimum of two years bedside clinical experience highly desired; no minimum years of experience specified for initial qualification.
  • Schedule: Night shifts; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 48 hours per week.
  • Performs a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
  • Provides timely and accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Participates in patient rehabilitation programs and takes responsibility for direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
  • Initiates discharge planning and patient teaching in preparation for discharge.
  • Ensures effective communication regarding patient status changes among team members, physicians, and families.
  • Delegates and supervises ancillary nursing personnel appropriately, providing training and direction.
  • Maintains safety standards for personal, patient, and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Contributes to team building and a positive work environment through effective communication and support.
  • Monitors supplies and charges to promote cost-effective care.
  • Assumes charge responsibility following orientation as requested.
  • Pursues professional development through continuing education and self-study.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
