Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse in Overland Park, Kansas. This position involves caring for patients with moderate physiologic instability, including those with COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF, and trach patients. The role requires providing cardiac and respiratory monitoring and management in a specialized telemetry and pulmonary step-down setting.
Job Details
- Position: Progress Care Unit (PCU) Nurse
- Location: Overland Park, Kansas
- Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Required Qualifications: Certification in ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and current licensure in Kansas; work experience in a clinical setting; ability to perform ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and cardiac monitoring; high school diploma or equivalent
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week, starting 11/02/2026 through 02/01/2027
- Additional Information: The Telemetry & Pulmonary Step-Down Unit cares for patients with moderate physiologic instability requiring cardiac and respiratory support. Procedures include oxygen therapy (Nasal Cannula, BIPAP/CPAP, AirVo), vital signs every 4 hours, continuous cardiac monitoring, blood glucose monitoring every 4 hours, and neurological assessments as needed.
