Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor (MS) Nurse in the New York area. This position involves providing specialized care for patients with stroke, altered mental status, renal, dialysis, COPD, CHF, isolation, pneumonia, and pulmonary issues. The role requires a skilled healthcare professional adept at managing adult patient populations in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Job Details

Position: Medical Surgical (MS) Nurse, Stroke Stepdown Specialty
Location: New York (local candidates preferred for rate considerations)
Shift: 6:30 PM 7:00 AM (Nights), 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Active New York Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) license; current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (can be obtained prior to start); at least 2 years of experience in medical-surgical units with stroke stepdown experience; experience documenting travel assignments; proficiency with Epic electronic medical record system; valid drivers license matching demographics.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing adult patients with complex diagnoses such as stroke, renal issues, COPD, CHF, and pneumonia; experience using IV pumps, N/G tubes, feeding tubes; previous experience with float rotations.
Schedule: Nights, 6:30 PM 7:00 AM, 48 hours per week minimum
Additional Information: Floating to different units may be required; navy scrub attire is specified. The unit has approximately 64 beds and handles a variety of adult cases including stroke, altered mental status, renal, dialysis, COPD, CHF, and other general medical conditions.
Submission Requirements: Must include current resume demonstrating 2+ years of relevant experience, current AHA BLS, NIHSS certification, NY license verification, all active RN licenses, drivers license documentation, and RTO details at the time of submission.
