Description

Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) specialty nurse position in a healthcare facility. The role involves caring for high-risk delivery patients, including various gestational ages, EMT drop-offs, substance withdrawal cases, and patients with no prenatal care. It requires experienced nurses to provide comprehensive bedside care, assist with cesarean sections, and support postpartum patients in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Fetal Monitoring.
  • Education Requirements: BSN not required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years required, with 3 years minimum experience preferred; at least one prior travel contract is preferred.
  • Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 pm 7:30 am) with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Current ACLS, BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications; minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience; ability to circulate during cesarean sections.
  • Additional Information: Nurses must have 2-3 years of experience and the ability to float between units such as postpartum, NICU, and L&D. The unit follows American Womens Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWOHNN) guidelines and uses FetalLink with Cerner EMR.
  • Charting System: Cerner.
  • Call: Optional but preferred.
  • Holidays & Weekends: Will work holidays; required to work four weekends in a 4-week schedule.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
