PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Registered Nurse position located in Marysville. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring their safety, comfort, and stability during the immediate post-operative period. The position requires collaboration with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

• Position: Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Location: Marysville area
• Responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process to assess patients, design and implement individualized care plans, evaluate patient responses to care, and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Provides patient and family education across all phases of care to promote understanding, compliance, and reassurance.
• Responds to emergency situations following established protocols, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
• Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for clinical decision-making and problem-solving during shifts.
• Ensures continuity of care through prompt processing of physician's orders and treatment plans.
• Acts as the patient's advocate to uphold patient rights and intervene as needed.
• Practices in accordance with the California Nurse Practice Act and utilizes effective communication with staff, physicians, and families.
• Maintains accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and care provided.
• Performs technical patient care procedures, including medication administration and IV therapy, with careful attention to patient-specific needs.
• Performs emergency procedures such as CPR and monitors patient responses effectively.
• Demonstrates safe use of healthcare equipment including infusion pumps, physiologic monitors, and traction devices.
• Schedule: Days, 10-hour shifts, minimum 40 hours per week.
• Required qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN), RN licensure in the state of practice, BLS certification, ACLS certification, and relevant clinical experience in post anesthesia or critical care settings.
• Preferred qualifications include experience in acute care facilities, EPIC electronic health record system familiarity, and additional certifications such as PALS, TNCC, and neonatal resuscitation.
• Additional clinical training such as Critical Care Course and competency in IV Sedation for specific departments are required within specified timeframes.
