Job Summary
The organization is seeking a qualified Step Down Nurse for a position in a Telemetry and Cardiac Intervention Unit. This role involves providing care to post-cardiac and intervention patients within a stepdown level of care, utilizing advanced monitoring and treatment skills in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Job Details
- Location: Not specified, but within the specified healthcare facilitys environment.
- Certifications, Education, and Experience Requirements: Certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience; licensed to practice nursing.
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with dayshift (7 a.m. 7 p.m.), nights (7 p.m. 7 a.m.), and every other weekend, including rotating holiday shifts.
- Responsibilities include caring for post cardiac patients such as those post catheterization, TEE, cardioversion, ablations, AICD, external pacers, chest tubes, drains, and administering titrated IV medications such as amiodarone, cardizem, nitro, pressors, dopamine, insulin, and heparin.
- Additional clinical notes specify the need to interpret monitor strips, titrate medications, and handle complex cardiac cases with proficiency in Electronic Monitoring (EMR) systems.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
