Job Summary
The Surgical Technician II position is located in the ORT (Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician) specialty. This role involves supporting surgical teams by preparing and passing instruments, maintaining aseptic technique, and assisting with various operative procedures. The position ensures smooth surgical experiences and patient safety in all surgical areas, including complex cases.

Job Details

• Schedule: Rotating shift, 10 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited surgical technology program recognized by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or a formal structured surgical program (e.g., military service). Current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
• Two or more years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
• Ability to apply judgment and make informed decisions.
• Ability to work independently and foster effective working relationships.
• Ability to solve problems, identify solutions, and communicate effectively.
• Knowledge and understanding of normal/abnormal anatomy/physiology and surgical procedures.
• Knowledge of computer systems and software used in the functional area.
• Ability to use judgment to determine workflow and provide appropriate care considering patient age, culture, and developmental issues.
• Ability to provide leadership and influence others, along with critical thinking skills.
• Additional Information: The role involves providing indirect patient care activities such as transportation, maintaining aseptic technique, ensuring equipment functionality, and assisting with room turnover. The candidate must test and troubleshoot equipment, handle specimens and medications properly, and serve as a role model for Surgical Tech I.
