Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) Sacramento, CA. This role involves providing essential obstetric care in a high-risk, couplet care unit within a busy healthcare facility. The position requires circulating for cesarean sections, navigating all aspects of labor, delivery, postpartum (LDRP), and outpatient obstetrics, following established guidelines and protocols.
Job Details
- Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts starting at 6:45 PM, with overtime and extra shifts available, working every other weekend and rotating with staff on holidays.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications include BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN-Advanced; valid license to practice as an RN; minimum of 2 years of experience in obstetric or L&D nursing; no specific experience requirement listed.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience circulating c-sections, titrating drips such as Pitocin, and interpreting EKG strips. Knowledge of AWHONN guidelines for staffing ratios and comfort working in a high-risk unit.
- Responsibilities: Circulate during cesarean sections and all phases of labor and delivery; work closely within a high-acuity OB unit, including triage, antepartum, postpartum, and emergency situations; work with GE Corometric monitors for fetal surveillance; float to other facilities within Sacramento as required.
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
