Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse, located at the healthcare provider's facility, is responsible for providing high-acuity care to patients in a very demanding environment. The role involves managing complex cases such as strokes, cardiovascular emergencies, diabetes, wounds, behavioral health, and sepsis, with some trauma cases. The ER Nurse ensures quality patient care through independent practice, adherence to standards, and effective delegation.

Job Details

  • Position Description:
    The ER Nurse practices in a high-acuity unit, handling patients with complex medical needs, including strokes, cardiovascular events, diabetes, wounds, behavioral health, and sepsis. This role involves providing routine and complex nursing care, developing long-term care plans, and managing clinical contingencies. The nurse makes appropriate assignments and delegation to team members to support patient management.
  • Required Qualifications:
    BLS (Basic Life Support) certification via AHA, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification via AHA, PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification via AHA, TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification, De-Escalation certification, RN license in the state of employment or a compact license, Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty, and current licensure.
  • Schedule:
    Dayshift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Additional Information:
    The position requires attending New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire, precepting by designated trained staff, and competency validation through the organizational system. All annual competency verification requirements must be completed successfully.
