Job Summary
Surgical Technician / Operating Room Technician in Plano, TX This position supports intra-operative patient care by assisting the surgical team with equipment and instrumentation to prepare the operating room environment. The role involves preparing the surgical site, maintaining sterile fields, and ensuring all surgical instruments and supplies function properly during procedures under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Job Details

Certifications: BLS (AHA only), Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from NBSTSA or NCCT
Education Requirements: Completion of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited surgical technologist program, or formal training from the U.S. military or one-year operating room technician program
Location: Plano, TX
Years of Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience in Neuro, Uro, Ortho, General, or Robotics (Da Vinci Xi) surgeries
Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week, from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, with call shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on four shifts per month, including one weekend and holiday call shift
Additional Information: The role involves assisting with surgical procedures, maintaining sterile environments, handling surgical specimens, and cleaning operating room areas following infection control policies. Adequate knowledge of infection prevention, sterilization standards, and human anatomy is required.
