Job Summary
Medical Surgical Nurse - Illinois This is a Medsurg Unit that is blended, with a thriving Swing Bed Program and occasional care for patients at a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) level of care. The role involves balancing assignments based on workload and patient care needs, with patient ratios of 1:5 for Medsurg, 1:5-6 for Swing Bed, and 1:3-4 for PCU, particularly when patients are on drips. The schedule is from 7 PM to 7 AM, every other holiday and weekend, with no on-call requirement. The unit demonstrates a strong team environment and is designated as a Pathways to Excellence facility through the ANCC, emphasizing safety, quality care, and shared decision making.

Job Details

• Position Description: This role is on a Medsurg Unit with blended patient care, including Swing Bed and occasionally PCU level patients.
• Required Qualifications: Current Illinois Registered Nurse license; Current CPR/BLS Card, ACLS; experience or background in Medical Surgical and Progressive Care Units; no minimum experience required.
• Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: No on-call requirement. The team actively participates in unit committees, ensuring a collaborative work environment that promotes safety and quality care.
