Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) in the Sacramento area. This high-acuity Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) position involves caring for complex patients requiring advanced monitoring and interventions. The role emphasizes proactive, confident clinical skills and the ability to manage critically ill cardiac surgery and vascular patients.

Job Details

  • Certifications, Education, Experience, and Location Requirements: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required; minimum of 2 years of experience in a CVICU setting required; license to submit needed; work location in the Sacramento area; no specific degree specified; minimum of 0 years of experience.
  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, starting at 1745, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Every other weekend is required; includes holiday rotation.
  • Additional Information: Must have 2 full years of post-qualification experience in CVICU and completed at least one travel assignment in a similar setting. This unit manages patients with complex cardiovascular conditions including post-CABG, LVADs, IABP, TAVRs, CRRT, and other critical drips. Patients are generally extubated within 6 hours post-surgery. The facility utilizes Cerner electronic medical records. Float to other Sacramento facilities is possible but rare. Complete a Dys exam through UNA within 24-48 hours before signing the contract; pass required with up to two attempts. The role involves working with critical patient populations and requires a proactive approach to care.
