Job Summary
The Certified Operating Room Technician (ORT CERT) position is located in Plano, TX. This role involves supporting surgical teams during procedures, ensuring the operating room environment is safe, sterile, and properly equipped. The technician will assist with instrumentation, patient preparation, and maintaining sterile techniques under supervision.
Job Details
- Certifications: BLS (AHA only), CST (NBSTSA or NCCT) required
- Education Requirements: Completion of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited OR program, formal surgical technology training in the U.S. military, or a one-year operating room technician program required
- Location: Plano, TX
- Schedule: Days, 3x12-hour shifts, 0645-1915, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Neuro, Uro, Ortho, General, or Robotics (Da Vinci Xi) surgeries required

Responsibilities include preparing the operative site, maintaining instrumentation, assisting with patient draping and positioning, performing surgical counts, passing sterile supplies, assisting with specimen handling, and ensuring aseptic techniques and infection control standards are followed. The technician will also disassemble instruments post-surgery, assist with operating room cleanup, and ensure all surgical equipment is sterilized and ready for next use.
